2 things to do to remove the things you don't want in your life

In the earlier post, how to make the time for what really matters I had mentioned that removing the activities we don’t need is a great way of making spare time for those things we want to involve in. but this can be a daunting task. I believe these steps can help you identify the useless activities and annihilate them from your time table.

1.    Sort out the useless activities from the useful.

This is definitely the hardest task: to separate the rotten from the fresh. There is no simple rule to sort them out since everybody’s way of spending time differs. But, I’d like to point out these two that affect huge numbers of people:
·        Watching TV : I bet that this is the most widespread way of killing time. WAIT! Why do we even use of the term “killing time”. Why’d anyone want to kill time? Isn’t it the most precious entity one owns? Sadly, very few people ask this kind of questions. Today people spend a great chunk of their time on simply utter less way. We spend a great deal of our time working for things that we don’t see as useful (harmful in many occasions). We spend our so called free time by going shopping, buying stuffs, and other waste for earning a temporary joy. We’ve learnt that we need to live far higher than our standards to be truly happy (even we’re stuck in colossal debts). As I said TV is one great way to kill time for a great number of people. This is due to the fact that all it requires from us is to sit down and have all the fun without having to move. One clear thing TV is doing to you is that it’s keeping you in the comfort zone. There is a good quote challenging this dogma,
“Great things don’t come
                  From the comfort zone”
Besides, TV also makes you unhappy. This is required by advertisers who are trying to sell you useless stuff. Therefore it’s a big business. Read post how to be a better version of ourselves for more information. There may be some uses of watching current issues or news of what’s going across the globe. But it should be a starting point if we want to use our time more efficiently.
·        Getting lost in social media.
Social medias are useful because they are a great way of communicating. Communication is definitely one of the human needs and is important to our well being. What makes me mention social media on its bad terms is the fact that an increasing number of people (mainly young) are being obsessed into them. I think you will agree with me on this one. It’s clear that there are an increasing number of people to get fame in any way possible. That’s why there is more false information in social media than true ones. Trustworthy sources are scarce and people are engaging in increasingly foolish actions and are in return hurting themselves. You can watch people on you tube doing dangerous stuff intentionally and get hurt and go to the hospital. For many this is a joke and even supports this if it’s used to teach others not to do it. Even though this is a noble idea, it’s not pulling out the root cause, and the pranks will continue to worsen.
Some stunts are not only dangerous but also hurt the pride of the people doing it. It’s sad that there are so many young people (mostly women) selling their bodies for profit or temporary fame.
I believe that if we reduce our rush on social media, and give them less value, it’ll allow us to give more time to what really matters.

2.   Start a moderate change – from useless to the useful.

Great! Now that we have differentiated the two, it’s now time to start moving our time to start moving our time to what really matters.
Some activities can be dropped just by deciding like doing nothing. But many may take time to develop. Any radical change may not be adapted quickly by the brain. Therefore it’s a smart choice not to involve in doing new things right away. A good example, can be by giving less time therefore cutting hours on the things we don’t really want to do. If we don’t need them at all, they can eventually be eliminated.
One thing to be careful on this strategy is to plan how we’re to reduce the hours periodically. Plan is by itself not enough. Action is needed & the feeling of doing later should be resented. Click here if you want to know more on how to fight procrastination (the feeling of I’ll do it later).
3.   Don’t be disappointed if things don’t work out the way you expect.
While trying to replace the things we don’t need with what we do, we’ll have to expect that the sacrifice of temporary pleasure is needed. By this I mean, we’ve got to be bored and an awkward state of emotion, till we get to the right track. It should be part in mind here that the scary and uncomfortable steps we’re taking today will help us in finding ourselves better tomorrow. It might not work the first time we try it. Not even the second time but through patience and relentless effort, we can achieve what we really want.

If you’ve any question or comment I’ll be ready to reply them,
