3 questions to know if our wants being transformed in to needs?

Are our wants being transformed in to needs?

As we all know, modern age has spread Luxury and comfort to the masses than ever. Today, many people live the life that monarchies of the past can’t even dream of. It’s very easy to notice that all appliances we use in our lives being advertised saying, For a better life, simple life, easy life … whatsoever.
Our instincts tell us that the way requiring the least expenditure of energy should be or aim. But
“Too much comfort equals too much trouble”
You might have heard or seen an increasing number of people getting diseases that didn’t exist or were hardly known in the past. Our knowledge in the medical sector has grown so fast that untreatable or fatal diseases of even the near past could be treated and have a very high survival rate. But despite this fact, more and more diseases are emerging and they’re proving more deadly too.
Surprisingly, most of these diseases are related one way or another to our way of living and therefore are called HUMAN INDUCED DISEASES. But what have we done to our bodies so that they react violently. These days more people are inactive – physically. Our forefathers had to be active for most part of the day to survive. Their rest hours were highly limited; the exact opposite of ours. Even in the near past (few centuries ago for this case) when people began to settle in villages, towns or perhaps cities, they still had to quite a lot of work. Indeed the many monarchies and nobles were rather inactive but their numbers are negligible so we are concentrating on the large masses.
It’s true that problems are always there with a human being and they have to find a way to solve it. In the past the problems was how to make it easier but today our main problem is to how we do it by ourselves? Seems strange right? Continue reading to find out why.
Coming to our title, are our wants transforming to our needs? First let’s ask ourselves if we know what our wants and needs are.
First with “NEEDS” Needs are generally the things we, you know need! It’s just too clear definition by itself but it might not be the way it seems. They could be defined by everyone in their way and there are a lot of definitions put out by different scholars on the web.
When talking about needs we may have the ideas about the three basic needs from elementary school, Food, clothing & shelter.
These are generally known as subsistence (therefore to survive). There are Seven in total (subsistence, protection, affection, understanding, participation, leisure, creation, identity, freedom) check Wikipedia for full information.
But my focus doesn’t regard what the needs are but what our wants are changing us into. I bet the following questions will help,

1.    Can I do the thing by myself?

We work hard to fulfill our needs, but something should be done on the other side. Let me explain with an example. Food in the past was either got by farming or Hunting. Both required immense efforts towards them but both had some magic with in them. The seeds of the plant or the flesh of the animals didn’t just come because we ploughed or hunted them. It was due to their part of being alive and containing nutrition.
Same thing with the other needs, obtaining friends may be hard for some and easy for others. But whatever is our ability in interacting with others, we need others to understand us too! It is that same old magic – life. Be it in us or others.
So after getting how needs work, we may want to know how our wants work. But we should realize that wants themselves are different. One point I would like to mention here is that, there is no clear boundary between Want and Need. They are kind of interrelated.

2.   Do we want them or Do we want to be seen wanting them.

People want a lot of things a lot. There are the what I call “Everyone wants it” kind of wants. For me this primarily involves money and it’s luxury. We have to prioritize when deciding which want should come at the top. If we’re letting things we actually do not want to come out first, we may not even have the time to accomplish what we really want which is clearly a thing we want NEED to avoid! Check this if you have trouble with peer groups.

3.   What are the rewards for obtaining the wants?

It’s widely accepted that seeing ahead is a good thing. SO what would you get after achieving them? Do you think they will have a drawback? I know nothing about what is going inside your head so answer these and if you find that they go well with your values and are safe for all involved, and then what are you waiting for? Go for it and make your dreams reality. You are the only limit t how far they can go.
