Why is a moderate change better than radical ones?

In the previous post, Removing the activities you don’t need in your life, you may’ve noticed that radical change is not the best way in changing your activities. In some occasions radical changes may be needed. For instance, stopping to be extravagant can be stopped instantly if we have the will.                     “The only thing that is constant                                                Is change .” Heraclitus   .            Change is a need for mankind and is inevitable. It’s not just limited to man; the entire world and even the universe change....

2 things to do to remove the things you don't want in your life

2 things to do to remove the things you don't want in your life In the earlier post, how to make the time for what really matters I had mentioned that removing the activities we don’t need is a great way of making spare time for those things we want to involve in. but this can be a daunting task. I believe these steps can help you identify the useless activities and annihilate them from your time table. 1.     Sort out the useless activities from the useful. This is definitely the hardest task: to separate the rotten from the fresh. There is no simple rule to sort them out since everybody’s way of spending time differs. But, I’d like to point out these two that affect huge numbers of people: ·         Watching TV : I bet that this is the most widespread way of killing time. WAIT! Why do we even use of the term “killing time”. Why’d anyone want to kill time? Isn’t it the most precious entity one owns? Sadly, v...

How to make the time for what really matters?

Image
Let me start today by asking one simple question                        “Are you doing the things that you want to do?”   Before rushing to answer the question, let’s take a deep breath and calm our mind for a moment … now, what are your wants? We all have got to answer this question before moving on to the primary question (which is literally a yes or no question). While you start to think about these, you’ll have noticed that the answer is going to be a long list, so it’ll be preferable to have a pen and a piece of paper handy.    To give you a tip while writing them down, have three categories where 1.     Things/activities that give you the most joyful moments 2.    Things/activities you do for fun but have a potential in earning you an income or can...

How is the modern age changing us? ( Part 3 )

Image
                                  3. Day to day activities.         In general, we human beings are living considerably different way of life. The activities of a person these days are unlikely to include, gathering and hunting for food. Instead, they are likely to incude watching TV, shopping, driving a car, eating in a restaurant and other common practices done by the today’s world.         As I have mentioned in the earlier posts, our way of life is the main reason for the countless problems we’re encountering today. I’ve also mentioned that living a sedentary life has its own consequences. A sedentary lifestyle has a typical behaviour – low immobility. Working is today defined both physically and mentally. In fact a job that involves more mental work than a physical work is prized by majority of people (i...

How is the modern age changing us? (Part 1)

Image
Introduction As the subject concerning the “modern age” is one of the main aspects of the blog, I hope readers may be interested in a post regarding this topic. So I’d like to write a few continuous posts that are focused on this point. 1.     Health.               Has the health of people improved through the years? Short answers, yes. People are indeed enjoying higher life expectancy. According to the statistics, people are living longer. But what exactly brought this change? It’s an easy question. Throughout the past centuries, our knowledge regarding diseases and medicine has increased remarkably along others. This has led to the production of better medicines and led people to devise quality surgical methods.               It’s no wonder we humans on average have better health status than our ancestors with all this security against diseases. But interestingly e...

4 ways to be a mentally Independent person.

Image
Being mentally independent is the start of all types of independence. Be it financial, social, emotional…. Therefore clearing the mind first before any step; major or minor is crucial so I thought it will be great to write on how to simply make our mind at its best efficiency for us. 1.     Hope, don’t regret.           Hope is the only reason we human beings live for. Being a rational animal has its drawbacks. First, we are adjusted to look back to what we have lost in the past. We spend our precious time trying to figure out if it wasn’t for that thing or the other that came before it.          Just to remind you of what effects it has in our lives – IT DOESN’T MATTER! True, it may be the reason that some people are acting towards us. But don’t be like them. They’re people who live in the past.  ...

How to master your health through your thoughts!

Image
How to master your health through your thoughts !       At first it seems illogical to say that our thoughts control our body health. “What is this person talking about?” one can ask “will I have 6 packs or lose a dozen pounds just by thinking? Now this is hilarious!” Yes it may not seem right but … it does.       How on earth? Now let’s step back and imagine a very normal man in today’s world. Let’s call him YENO. Yeno’s typical day may look like this.       “I get up around 7 am. Then I  hurry to make something to eat for breakfast. While I cook I normally stick my earphones  1 and keep them there till I reach work. At work I sit on my desk and stay in front of the screen for a few hours  2 . I’ve also to cope with the nagging loudmouthed  3 mouth boss of mine who wants to me to kill myself  4 . After a long day of work I go out with my...

Image
We all had plans one night that were really useful for either short or long term and planned to do them soon – maybe tomorrow. We got up the next morning and something seemed wrong, maybe we got up on the wrong side of the bed? We do want to start our plan but then one voice comes and tells us “sit down and do what you’re used to and stop wasting your energy.”               This voice is procrastination. To make it a little fun, let’s imagine its one fat tiny man trying to keep us in our comfort zone and not trying something new.       Well this little man is keeping us in our comfort zone – in safety.
